The fact that political leaders traditionally sent messages of condolences offering their “thoughts and prayers” to victims and their families. Such innocent expressions of comfort have enraged liberals who claim the idea of prayer especially in times of a shooting is meaningless. Even prayer can be politicized as some protesters have resorted to “shaming prayer.” (Prayer Shaming: A New Front in the Culture War, John Horvat II, Return To Order)
Why do so-called ‘scientifically enlightened’ progressive liberals ridicule and shame prayer? The answer lies in their view of reality.
Christian Reality
If you are an orthodox Christian then Reality is the Holy Triune Creator, the uncreated, eternally existing one true God (Reality) Who spoke creation (created reality) into existence. Orthodox Christians therefore know and accept that humans are His creatures; living souls embedded within flesh. Thus, they are His image bearers, and He loves them and hears their prayers, praise, and petitions and responds in His own time and way.
Godless Reality
“Reality is an idol conceptualized by men and demons” Psalm 135:15.
Throughout the post-Christian West and here in the USA, Christian beliefs have finally been scrubbed clean from the minds of Westerners, thus, they accept (from Globalist god-men and their propagandizing systematizers) a dehumanizing ideology about themselves and reality (reality can’t create, think, speak, move, or hear them so prayers are a useless folly). Believing their scientific worldview is superior to backwards Christian beliefs, they docilely submit to a dehumanizing, soul-denying ideology on the order of the occult scientific quasi-Buddhist, Hermetic, and pagan animistic Marxist system:

Social engineering allows the New Man to imagine he is a bio-machine or hominid rather than the image bearer of the Triune Creator. This allows the New Man to sink into passive slavery to instincts and passions. In short, since the New Man has no real choice, whatever harm he does to others can never be his fault since ‘ science’ has liberated the New Man from the burden of moral choice between good and evil. In this way, the New Man can fully enjoy his earthly rewards as a slave within a deterministic system of cause and effect unless truth and reality invade his collective darkness. Far from redeeming the New Man, social engineering has but brought back the Old Man of 2 Tim. 3:3.” (1)
So when these darkened, dehumanized, withered souls scoff, mock and ridicule you for praying to our Lord Jesus Christ, pity them, for they are slaves of the dark-side, and pray for the redemption of the souls they disbelieve in.

1. Marxist Utopianism Invading the Last Bastions of Faithful (Orthodox) Christianity
In thinking over the above, I had the following thoughts:
Repentance requires of the penitent the capacity to admit guilt and remorse for wrongs, sins, committed against men and against God, within the context God has given us. It requires a guilty conscience.
But the impenitent have no such capacity to admit guilt or remorse, no guilty conscience, always thinking they can do no wrong. So they war against those who can admit to it by inventing fake wrongs, sins, to use against them, with the goal of overpowering their lawfulness and to seize control from them as per Nietzsche’s Will To Power and Darwin’s “survival of the fittest”.
They use out own capacity for repentance to establish their own fake justice which is just a pretext to have complete control. Of course, their results are always mayhem issuing from their lawlessness.
