Pope Francis and the Doctrines of Elemental Spirits

See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ”. Colossians 2:8

On the fourth day of his Apostolic “pilgrimage” to Canada, Pope Francis joined a pagan “smudging” ritual during his visit to Quebec and participated in the indigenous practice before delivering a lengthy speech in which he expressed “deep shame and sorrow” for the part played by Catholic Church members in government-funded residential school abuses.

Accompanying the Pope were a number of high-ranking prelates including the Archbishop of Toronto, Cardinal Christopher Collins; Archbishop of Quebec and Primate of Canada Gerald Lacroix; Cardinal Michael F. Czerny, S.J., prefect of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development; Cardinal Marc A. Ouellet, prefect of the Congregation for Bishops; Archbishop of Edmonton Richard W. Smith; and the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.

All of them participated in an occult ritual performed in  “honor of earth, wind, water, and fire:”

We will honor the mineral aspect, the vegetable aspect, and the human aspect.” To “open the four directions” an elder whistled through a bone instrument four times before saying: “I ask the western grandmother to give us access to the sacred circle of spirits so they can be with us, so we can be united and stronger together.”  (Pope Francis and Canadian Bishops Take Part in Pagan ’Smudging’ Ritual Invoking ’Sacred Circle of Spirits,’ David McLoone, LifeSite News, 7/28/22)

The Sacred Circle of Spirits: Who Are They?

From ancient times the sacred circle of spirits have been worshipped as astral gods and other spirits derived from earth, air, fire, and water.  In esoteric pagan religious systems they are the four groups of nature spirits known as elementals.  They tend forces of nature in the four categories of elements: earth, wind, fire, and water.   One group tends earth, another all waters.  A third group directs air currents, atmospheric conditions, and aerates life with sacred breath. The fourth group infuse matter with the fires of creation.

In  Colossians 2:20-23 Paul speaks of the “elemental spirits”:

If with Christ you died to the elemental spirits of the world, why, as if you were still alive in the world, do you submit to regulations . . . according to human precepts and teachings?” (Vs 20–22, ESV).

In these verses, Paul equates “elemental spirits of the world” with “regulations,” “human precepts,” and “teachings.”

However, a contemporary paranormal school website clearly identifies elemental spirits as living beings who,”

“…can’t be seen through normal human eyes, but clairvoyants can see them….Most of them are shapeshifters and can appear human-like or as waves, butterflies, or lizards playing with fire.  The thought of elemental spirits originated from the belief that elements are the building blocks of nature. This then progressed into elementals being defined by the gentiles as unknown but powerful forces that affected men and the surroundings. “

The identity of elemental “spirits” is now clear: they are fallen Powers, Principalities and other evil spirits who promote false doctrine (1 Tim. 4:1)

From ancient times through to our own, “elemental spirits of the world” have been teaching worship of creation, evolutionary origin accounts,  and other worldly ideas as truth to unconverted minds.

Apparently, Pope Francis has not died with Christ to the elemental spirits.

Perhaps Pope Francis’ life with them is due to his embrace of their modern doctrines disguised as Darwinism, Teilhardism, evolutionary biology, Big Bang, and other anti-Christ teachings.

  1. This brings into sharp relief that rhetorical question which was sometimes asked to confirm a given statement: “is the Pope Catholic?”. The presumed answer was “yes”. No longer, because the Pope is a confirmed pagan, making the answer “no”.
He doesn’t even know why he’s Pope, which is to bring Christ to all the nations, not to host every pagan religion. He’s an anti-pope and an imposter seeking to dupe the faithful and true.
Nothing he promotes is Christian, he just puts on a show of doing it. He’s a wolf in Christian clothing.
I hope that he repents before his end comes, after which he will receive his just deserts. Christ’s death on the cross will be of no avail to him who won’t accept Him. There will be no Paradise awaiting him.

  2. See also Mark 8 vs. 36-38 “For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” It goes on to say that whoever is ashamed of Christ and His words, the Son of man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of His Father with His holy angels.
It is senseless not to heed those words.
