The Peace Sign: Occult Symbol Meaning Hatred and Death to Christians

War is peace.”  George Orwell, 1984

Signified by the peace symbol, September 22 is hailed as International Peace Day. According to the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) the peace symbol was designed more than sixty years ago by an English professional artist/designer named Gerald Holtom. Today the highly successful motif appears on everything from children’s clothing, to T-shirts, mugs, jewelry, purses and more.

While the reported origin of the symbol has been clearly documented in letters, interviews, and the original sketches of the sign, the peace symbol has neo-pagan Communist and occult Nazi, as well as historically pagan, occult, and anti-Christian meanings and derivations:

The downward V has been linked to the mystic character for ‘Aum’, a sacred word to the Hindu. Saying ‘Aum’ over and over supposedly awakens the power of Brahma at the base of the spine. Germanic tribes that used it claimed the sign, or “rune,” to have eerie, mystical properties. It is said that it was used by sorcerers in pagan ceremonies. The Saracens in A.D. 711 used this symbol to alternately represent a broken cross, a raven’s claw, or a witch’s foot, all presumably satanic symbols. Under the reign of Roman Emperor Nero, infamous for his brutal persecution of Christians and Jews, this symbol was prominently used to represent a broken cross or broken Jew. Nero crucified the Apostle Peter upside down, and the horrific event resembled the downward-pointing fork. It was thereafter called the Neronic cross. With the Third Reich steeped in the occult, Hitler’s 3rd Panzer Division used this same symbol from 1941 to 1945. The symbol in Germany is called a todesrune or death rune. It often appeared on death notices…It is also found on some of the tombstones of the notorious SS soldiers. Anton LaVey, founder of the Church of Satan, used the downward-pointing fork as the background for his altar. The Book of Signs, written by Rudolph Koch, indicates that the downward-pointing fork means “the death of man,” and, with the circle around it meaning “total,” the entire symbol means “the total death of all people.”  (What is the Origin of the Peace Sign? got questions)

Dr. Kurt Koch (1913-1987), a noted German theologian who pastored, counseled and delivered more than 20,000 people suffering from demonic bondage, said at the time of the first-century persecution of Christians, the peace symbol was called the Neronic cross.   It was on such a cross that the apostle Peter was crucified upside-down.  Koch comments:

The symbol of peace thus signifies an inverted cross and is a symbol of hatred against Christians.” (Occult ABC, p. 242)

Simon Peter at last sees it all as Jesus saw it all from the beginning. Even then, Simon sees it from a topsy-turvy angle. He and some two thousand other Christians have been tied to crosses stuck upside down on the grassy embankment around the Imperial Gardens on Vatican Hill. They have been daubed with pitch. Tonight, they are to be living, screaming, dying torches. Emperor Nero, his lovely concubine Poppaea, and their guests will have light to eat by and sights to joke about. Each Christian will die in the classic sign of Satan — the upside-down cross.” (“Capturing the Pagan Mind, Peter Jones, p. ix)

In the eighth century, the Saracens (Muslims) fought in Spain against the Catholic church.  Their warriors had the symbol of death (the Neronic cross) painted on their shields. The symbol also represented the breaking of the cross:

The same symbol of hatred against Christians was used by the Saracens when they fought against the Crusaders in A.D. 1099.”

By the Middle Ages, the Neronic cross had taken on more sinister meanings: “…the Neronic cross—known in many places as the pentagram—served as the symbol of the black mass, satanic cults and blasphemy.”

Occult groups that emerged out of the Renaissance such as the Golden Dawn and Masonic Illuminati held that the “point-up” pentagram represented the rulership of Spirit over the physical elements, while a point-down pentagram represented the descent of Spirit into matter or matter subsuming Spirit.” (1)

Wiccans adopted the point-up pentagram and satanisms point-down version as their representative symbols:

It is initiation or profanation; it is Lucifer or Vesper, the star of morning or evening. It is Mary or Lilith, victory or death, day or night. The Pentagram with two points in the ascendant represents Satan as the goat of the Sabbath; when one point is in the ascendant, it is the sign of the Saviour. By placing it in such a manner that two of its points are in the ascendant and one is below, we may see the horns, ears and beard of the hierarchic Goat of Mendes, when it becomes the sign of infernal evocations.” (Eliphas Levi, Transcendental Magic)

During the 20th century the Neronic cross became the symbol for the “peace” movement. It was the arch-communist Bertrand Russell, a member of the socialist Fabian Society who adapted the Neronic cross as the now famous peace symbol.  For Russell, the symbol meant not only communism but as he was a determined enemy of Jesus Christ, it also meant peace without Him.

According to Koch, the infamous ‘peace symbol’ has been worn by various arch-enemies of Christianity.  They range from Isis, to leaders of the communist student movement in the USA, the black pope Anton La Vey, and Russian trained Arab guerillas.

Another arch-enemy is the Cultural Marxist Biden Administration and its State Department. These two enemies reportedly blocked,

“…the rescue of Afghani Christian converts seeking to flee the now Taliban-run nation in order to escape an almost certain and unimaginably grotesque death.  ..The U.S. government has chosen not to designate Christians or other religious minorities as priorities for evacuation, according to a statementfrom the U.S. Commission on Religious Freedom (USCIRF), an independent, bipartisan, U.S. federal government commission that monitors the universal right to freedom of religion or belief abroad.”  (Biden White House and State Department Blocking Rescue of Christians From Afghanistan, Lifesite News, Aug. 27, 2021)

Peace, peace,’ they say, “when there is no peace” in their hearts. Jeremiah 6:14

From the first century crucifixion of Peter and other Christians, to the murder of more than 30,000,000 Christians by Marxist Communists; the torture, beheading, and crucifixion of thousands more by Isis, and the deliberate blocking of the rescue of Afghani Christians, the popular peace symbol does not mean peace but hatred and death. Long associated with Communism, Socialism, the Left, Democrats and radical Muslims, the Peace Symbol particularly signifies war, hatred and death against Christians.   In this light, no Christian should ever wear this evil symbol.
