Here’s the bad news: thanks to the cynical maneuverings of the military-industrial complex since Election Day, I’m not totally confident—and there’s no reason to be—that most of us will still be alive by President-elect Donald Trump’s planned inauguration date of January 20, 2025. A global thermonuclear war is entirely possible, if not imminent. And if it comes, it’s likely only a very few of the very rich and the very well-prepared will live through it.
And here’s the good news: if Trump and his allies do manage to see us through to January 20th, we are now on the verge of an era of peace that’s more assured and better fortified than ever.
In other words, the Deep State is trying to start a world war—and they might get what they want. But if they fail, the public mandate for peace will have just gotten ten feet higher.
It’s all happening very quickly, so let me catch you up.
Last week, in the waning days of the Biden-Harris administration, Russia struck a Ukrainian city with an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). The missile was not armed with a nuclear warhead (thank God) and seems to have been intended as a warning.
A dire one. It was the first ICBM ever launched in the history of warfare, and it also proved that Russia is capable of striking enemy nations with a nuke that goes undetected and unintercepted by the West.
The news of the strike comes just a few days after the Biden-Harris administration made a drastic move that a majority of analysts would agree was mad: our officials approved Ukraine’s use of U.S.-made missiles against Russia, which the tiny nation fired into the nuclear superpower country as soon as they got America’s go-ahead.
After firing back his warning shot, Russian President Vladimir Putin now says he is ready to strike the United States. He also says he considers the United Kingdom to already be at war with Russia.
Meanwhile, one of Ukraine’s most prominent representatives has declared that we have already entered another world war. “Ukraine’s former military Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny said that the direct involvement of Russia’s autocratic allies in its war on Ukraine means that World War III has started,” Politicoreported this week. “I believe that in 2024 we can absolutely believe that the Third World War has begun,” said Zaluzhny, who is now Ukraine’s envoy to the United Kingdom, during a speech at Ukrainska Pravda’s UP100 award ceremony.”
Trump is fully aware of just how dangerous the situation is. He said days ago that we are now “closer to World War III than we have ever been before.”
There’s no one for whom the threat of global war isn’t personal—we are all in mortal danger! But Trump is personally a central player in the drama because the American people chose him for the role of peacemaker at just the moment when his opponents in the Deep State were apparently staging an unprecedented nuclear escalation.
Trump’s resounding victory this year was also a resounding call for peace. On the campaign trail, he said the carnage in Gaza must stop, he spoke out for the people of Armenia targeted for ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan, and he personally met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, convincingly beginning to de-escalate the war with Russia.
Trump faced down the wrath of the political establishment and its cronies in both major parties and won, rallying voters into a bipartisan anti-war consensus that earned the popular vote—and there’s no doubt in my mind that his anti-war rhetoric is a central reason why he now enjoys his highest-ever approval rating with the American public.
For the Deep-State military-industrial complex, all of that only set the stage for their most egregious and threatening move yet. And whatever the outcome, I believe this will be their last.
But by making that move, they’ve outed themselves more unmistakably than ever as what they are: enemies of the American people—and even enemies of humankind.
Their latest gambit to cling to power could cost us all our lives. But it has also cost these madmen all hope of ever presenting themselves—or their political puppets—as our leaders again.
Most of us have never known any significant period of peace during our lifetimes—with the exception of the brief peace the world saw under Trump’s first administration.
These days may be our last, or they may be the first of our happiest, freest, and most secure.
