The Dangers of a Trump Victory: A Realistic Assessment of an Eruption of Howling Madness if Trump Wins

Regis Martin, Crisis Magazine, 10/31/24

Now that the proverbial cat is conclusively out of the bag, and all the animal experts have determined that the damn thing is feral, why doesn’t somebody just put it out of its misery? Not to mention the misery of so many victimized by its vicious bite. Don’t we all deserve a clean break from the rabid beast?

If you take out the cat reference, putting the name of the former president in its place, won’t the same solution suggest itself? I mean, he’s a certified fascist, right? Hasn’t Kamala told us so? And nearly all the talking heads are beating the same drum. So why hasn’t someone simply taken this fascist beast out? You know, like a Tony Soprano whack job?

Well, actually, it’s been tried twice before already, and wouldn’t you know it, the cat keeps coming back. Is it possible he’s got nine lives?

Now there’s an unthinkable thought. What happens if Trump turns out to be indestructible? I mean, if this “distinctively vile human being and spectacularly malignant political actor,” to quote the latest attack piece in The New Yorker by Adam Gopnik (October 21), succeeds in dodging every bullet, including a final electoral effort to rid the country of his singularly subversive presence, what do we do then?

In a word, what happens if he wins? How utterly unhinged half the country will be! Sheer howling frustration for weeks and weeks. Psychiatric clinics on every street corner. Mass transfusions of antidepressants to dull the pain. And let’s not forget riots in every blue city in the land. This will be no peaceful transfer of power, you can be sure. Not if the lunatic Left has anything to say about it, which is beginning to look more and more like your average Democrat voter.

Of course, it could all be “just politics,” as a certain candidate seeking the Democratic nomination back in 2020 said after the guy who picked her as his Vice-Presidential running mate had been tarred with the “racist” brush on the debate stage for comments favorably made years before about a couple of segregationist senators from the Jim Crow South. Not Kamala’s finest hour, was it? But she finessed it nicely in a couple of interviews later when, between cackles, she confessed that the name-calling was never seriously meant. “Why that was just politics,” she explained.

To be sure, such courtesies do not extend to Adolf Hitler, with whom she and others have frequently compared Donald Trump. There is no way the Democrats are going to nuance that precious nugget. It is far too valuable a weapon to use in a battle that, more and more, they are disposed to frame in Manichaeistic terms, in which Trump is seen as the embodiment of evil, the dark force aligned with Hitlerian elements bent on annihilating the so-called enemy within.

“Trump is as deranged as he seems,” we are told in The New Yorkerhit piece, “and more dangerous than people realize.” No quarter may be given to this madman and the movement he heads. Indeed, the cancer continues to grow and appears to imperil every living thing in its path. “Treated with surgery once, it now threatens to come back in a more aggressive form…It may well rage out of control and kill its host.”

Thus, we have all been solemnly instructed by our thought leaders to think long and hard about the awful, apocalyptic fallout of a second Trump Administration. Do not lose sight, we are being told, of the terrible things

he has promised to do and can do, the things that the hard-core group of rancidly discontented figures who surround him and wants him to do…Above all, the spirit of vengeful reprisal is the totality of his beliefs—very much like the fascists of the twentieth century in being a man and a movement without any positive doctrine except revenge against his imagined enemies.

This, then, is the picture left-wing politicians and their lackeys in the press have sedulously drawn of Donald Trump, this “grimacing, red-faced, and unhinged man who may be reelected President.” And, yes, they are truly frightened that it may well come to pass.

Once you start aiming such maledictions at your opponent, calibrating the smear campaign in such a way that he is likened to the archvillain of history himself, Adolf Hitler, should you then be surprised if some zealot actually decides to go out and kill him? How loud must that dog whistle be before it is heard and acted upon? Especially when the sound it makes, the music we hear, resonates exactly with what the Democrats and their media chorus have been telling us right along?

And, yes, they’ll certainly feign shocked surprise when it happens, piously wringing their hands at the violence their own rhetoric has wrought, yet knowing all the while that this was the best news of all. This is precisely what the logic of their hatred implied all the time. Here is the consummation which they had most devoutly wished. Only there will be no happy outcome to the savagery they’ve loosed upon the land.

If saner counsels do not prevail, God alone knows what will come of this. We must pray. Hard and unremittingly. Not only for a Trump victory but that the win be so clear and decisive that it delivers in the most unmistakable way a mandate for this country to change its present course. Otherwise, we will not avert the disaster the Democrats have long had in mind for the nation we love.

  1. The New Yorker’s Adam Gopkin’s article, and any others like his, is one pathetic piece of self-delusion. It has nothing to do with reality or even truth. It’s a sad commentary on how far self-deception can go. Some might call it a grandiose and malignant narcissism that weaves such fantastical lies in avoidance of what’s true and what’s real, even to doing violence to them.
He’s so brainwashed that he can’t think objectively; he sees only within his own false subjective perceptions which don’t exist “out there”, but only within his own imagination.
He sees only what he wants to see and not what’s really there.
That’s the default condition of humans who don’t recognize the reality of God and become gods unto themselves and a law unto themselves.

  2. Btw, Gopkin’s pathetic commentary is what contributes to the fake news which is itself disinformation. It’s all fantasy, not real.
Fake news = fantasy = disinformation = not real. That is, Leftism itself is fantasy, fake, and not real. It can only speak lies since there’s no truth in it.
America has been attacked with many huge lies.
