The Christian God and the Blessing of Our Constitution

In The 5000 Year Leap, Cleon Skousen writes that most Americans in the early years of our Republic truly regarded the Constitution as a miracle, declaring that the formation and adoption of our new system of federal government represented a political achievement unprecedented in human history. It was a miracle because grounded on unchanging Reality, meaning the eternally existing personal Triune Creator of life, Law, Truth, the living souls of humans, and all else that exists (Gen. 1-11):

“…[T]he foundation of all reality is the existence of the eternal Creator, who is the designer of all things in nature and the promulgator of all the laws which govern nature.” (A Miracle that Changed the World: The 5000 Year Leap, Principles of Freedom, p. 101)

Ultimate Reality is not an energy field, the abyss, an androgynous Divine One Substance, the Void, or dialectical matter in motion, as the enemies of the Christian God teach and preach. Ultimate Reality is the personal Trinity–God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit– the one true Creator of everything that exists:

Doctor Rush then proceeded to consider the origin of the proposed (Constitution), and…deduced it (was) from heaven, asserting that he…believed the hand of God was employed in this work as that God had divided the Red Sea to give passage to the children of Israel, or had fulminated the Ten Commandments from Mount Sinai.” (John McMaster and Frederick Stone quoted in The 5,000 Year Leap, p. ii)

Throughout American history our nation’s leaders have prayed to and sought the counsel of God the Father:

From the day of the Declaration…they (the American people) were bound by the laws of God…and by the laws of the Gospel, which they nearly all acknowledged as the rules of their conduct.” (John Quincy Adams, Secretary of State, The 5,000 Year Leap, p. xviii)

President Franklin Roosevelt sent letters to soldiers encouraging them to read the Bible as a source of strength and encouragement. (1)

The painter Lambert Sachs memorialized George Washington on bended knee at Valley Forge. General George S. Patton wrote what became known as the Third Army Prayer asking God for fair weather so they could crush the oppression and wickedness of the enemy.(1)

Pete Hegseth led Pentagon staffers in a prayer to King Jesus and invited his pastor to deliver an encouraging message:

“King Jesus, we come humbly before you, seeking your face, seeking your grace, in humble obedience to your law and to your word. We come as sinners saved only by that grace, seeking your providence in our lives and in our nation. Lord God, we ask for the wisdom to see what is right and in each and every day, in each and every circumstance, the courage to do what is right in obedience to your will. It is in the name of our lord and savior, Jesus Christ, that we pray. And all God’s people say amen.” (1)

As the Constitution is grounded in eternally unchanging Divine Reality, the Founders believed it was destined to bless all mankind, and that it was incumbent on their successors to preserve and defend our national charter:

“If we and our posterity…live always in the fear of God and shall respect His Commandments…we may have the highest hopes of the future fortunes of our country…. But if we…neglect religious instruction and authority; violate the rules of eternal justice, trifle with the injunctions of morality, and recklessly destroy the constitution which holds us together, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.” (Daniel Webster, Address to the New York Historical Society, 1852).

And because they believed that man was created in the image of God, the American founders could write that all men “are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights.” Such thinking would have been preposterous in Hindu India or Confucianist China.” (Vishal Mangalwadi, The Wisdom of Vishal Mangalwadi, Charles Colson, The Catholic Exchange, May 19, 2009)

Democracy is Christ’s government in church and state,” said President Calvin Coolidge as he quoted John Wise (1710). “Here was the doctrine of equality, popular sovereignty, and the substance of the theory of inalienable rights….When we take all these circumstances into consideration, it is but natural that the first paragraph of the Declaration of Independence should open with a reference to Nature’s God and should close…with an appeal to the Supreme Judge of the world and an assertion of a firm reliance on Divine Providence…In its main feature the Declaration of Independence is a great spiritual document. Equality, liberty, popular sovereignty, the rights of man — these are not elements which we can see and touch. They are ideals. They have their source and roots in the religious convictions. They belong to the unseen world. ” (Backfired: A Nation Born for Religious Tolerance No Longer Tolerates Religion, William J. Federer, pp. 270-271)

Man is God’s spiritual image-bearer, and said the brilliant French economist, statesman, and author Frederic Bastiat, this is the gift from God which includes the physical, intellectual and moral life:

He has provided us with a collection of marvelous faculties. And He has put us in the midst of a variety of natural resources. By application of our faculties to these natural resources we convert them into products, and use them. Life, faculties, production — in other words, individuality, liberty, property — this is man (and) these three gifts from God precede all human legislation, and are superior to it. Life, liberty, and property do not exist because men have made laws. On the contrary, it was the fact that life, liberty, and property existed beforehand that caused men to make laws in the first place.” (How Evil Works, David Kupelian, p. 8)

End of the Blessing

In our time, an overwhelming majority of Westerners and Americans no longer believe in Divine Reality since in their hearts He is irrelevant. The Triune Creator has been replaced by various idols and ideologies: ’self,’ scientism, matter (physical and nonphysical), Lucifer, and Darwinism, for example.

The unbelievers in Europe attack the Christians as their political opponents rather than as their religious adversaries; they hate the Christian religion…” De Tocqueville, The 5.000 Year Leap, p.83)

The European unbelievers of that time are now the contemporary enemies of God the Father, Christianity, faithful Christians, all defenders of the Constitution, and Christian grounded Western and American civilization. We know them as Darwinian atheist activists, Progressive Leftists, Green Environmentalists, Marxists, the Deep State, Intelligence, Luciferians, and Globalists:

The New York Times described the Pentagon Worship service as “part of an increasing infusion of overt Christian evangelization in official government events during Mr. Trump’s second term.” (1)

The Freedom From Religion Foundation, a Wisconsin-based gang of anti-Christian atheist activists, said the worship service was against the law. They said Hegseth is sending a message that Christianity is the Pentagon’s preferred faith. (1)

Through their sinister machinations, the eternal Creator has become irrelevant, together with the Genesis account of creation ex nihilo, the two created sexes, Immutable Truth, unchanging Law (Gen. 1-11) and our Constitution. The Genesis account is not just irrelevant, but so offensive to our enemies that citing it is deemed evil.

In place of God the Father, creator of everything that exists, there is now an ongoing evolutionary change process perverting truth, Biblical moral standards, sexual ethics, the two created sexes, traditional marriage, the history of our nation, our Constitution, holidays, and traditions. These are being changed and perverted just as all distinctions between non-life forms, life forms and gender are in process of being perverted and blurred in the idea of evolution from molecule to ape to man and woman to homosexual, transgender to androgynous god-man. In the same way, all distinctions between good and evil, truth and lie, nations and religions are being merged.

All of this evil has come upon us because under the guiding influences of contemporary enemies of Christianity great numbers of Americans have been drinking deeply from the poisoned well of evolution and ideology. As one consequence, they have turned away from God the Father and Ultimate Reality, thereby falling into a false reality of confusion and nihilism consisting of a matrix of lies. As another, Americans who reject their Creator unwittingly reject their owns souls (inner persons), thereby dehumanizing themselves, and no longer being people, make themselves ineligible for Constitutional rights. And finally, Americans who reject the Christian God unwittingly reject the Constitution itself, a miraculous blessing grounded in eternally unchanging Reality.

All of these consequences are known to our conniving enemies who long ago planned for these very things to happen so they could empower themselves and strip us of our Constitutional rights.
