Do All Paths Lead to God?

Jeremiah Wright, born Hindu, saved by Grace

Yes, but not in the way the world means it.

Every man, every woman, every religion, every atheist, every idol worshipper, every moral person, and every rebel will one day stand before the God of the Bible. No path escapes Him. Death will bring every soul before His throne, and judgment will be according to truth.

“It is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

So the real question is not whether all paths lead to God. They do. The real question is whether all paths lead to heaven. And the answer is no.

Jesus did not leave that open for discussion. “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me” (John 14:6). He is not one road among many. He is the only way sinners can be reconciled to a holy God.

Every false religion may lead a man to judgment, but only Christ leads a sinner to life. The broad road may carry many with confidence, sincerity, tradition, and religious zeal, but it still ends in destruction. “The gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it” (Matthew 7:14).

So yes, all paths lead to God. But only one path leads to God as Father, Saviour, and Redeemer. That path is Jesus Christ alone.
