“Every perversion known to mankind is being embraced and gradually legalized. The idea that morality is created by each individual as he makes decisions throughout each day is a step beyond anarchy.” Moral Anarchy, American Thinker
If Christians are to be a Light in our dark, degenerate society pointing to the Way, we must be Holy. Holy in our hearts, speech, and actions and not unholy as is our degenerate, self-centered society . But if we’re to be Holy we must clean up our hearts, speech, and individual acts.
Back in the day children were disciplined not to be selfish and told that cleanliness is next to Holiness. As we look around our degenerate society we hear filth pouring from lips and see filth and slovenliness in homes, on streets, and even in churches. We were also instructed to always tell the truth, mind our manners, and abide by the rules and standards. But again, as we look around we hear liars everywhere, are subjected to rudeness, and see people casually ignoring rules and standards in favor of whatever they want to do.
All of this is unholy self-centeredness issuing in moral anarchy. As Christians we must examine our own consciences and be brutally honest about what we find there. Linda
I’ll end with the astute observations of a reader:
“Archy’ is a root word meaning government, rule or structure. ‘Anarchy’ is the absence of those things. When so called leaders lack the character, judgement or strength to actually lead, we have, de facto, anarchy. “We have turned everyone to their own way.”
“Our leader, Christ, refused to compromise. Our calling is clear; our response seems a bit ambiguous at the moment.”
Yes, that ambiguity can be seen as an adverse effect of living in a degenerate, and still degenerating, society. The remedy for that would be in rejecting those degenerative influences by being more Christlike, and thus holier.
Of course, one has to learn, and be taught, what that is.
