(LifeSiteNews) — In a just-released video interview, Tucker Carlson recounts how he suffered a bloody attack by a demon while asleep in bed – an event that he says led him to purchase and read and reread the Bible.

“It was a transformative experience,” the renowned podcast host said.

“I got attacked while I was asleep with my wife and four dogs in the bed … and mauled.  Physically mauled by a demon,” Carlson said, “or by something unseen that left claw marks on my sides.”

Carlson said that now, a year and half later, the marks on his sides are still visible.

“I woke up. I couldn’t breathe. I thought I was going to suffocate,” he explained. “I had these terrible pains on my rib cage and on my shoulder.”

Uncertain about what had just happened, Carlson walked into the bathroom, flicked on the light, and saw that he had “four claw marks on either side, underneath my arms and on my left shoulder. And they were bleeding.”

“I’m not from a world where things like that happen. I never heard of anything like that happening before,” he emphasized, but “I knew it was spiritual immediately.”

“I’m not from a faith tradition that talks about things like that or even acknowledges their existence,” Carlson said. “I’ve never heard anybody say anything like that in my whole life.”

“The next morning, I woke up and thought, ‘That was the weirdest dream I’ve ever had.’ And then I saw blood on my sheets and realized that was not a dream at all.”

Carlson said that afterward, he was “seized with this very intense desire to read the Bible, which I then started without any study aids or anything.”

“So, I spent a year and a half reading it and then I started re-reading it and it was just a transformative experience for me.”

“No one has to believe me. I don’t care,” Carlson said. “But that happened to me.”

Rod Dreher, Orthodox Christian and author of the “Benedict Option,” was quick to confirm Carlson’s story on X.

“Tucker Carlson has gone public with the news that he was physically attacked by a demon,” Dreher noted.

“This is true. He told me about it a year ago,” Dreher said. “Terrifying stuff.”

  1. It happens, albeit probably uncommon. As part of a group of students from the Bible college I was attending back in the 70’s to go to a church in S. Arizona to give a talk to the youth group about the dangers of Halloween, we went to a secluded spot in the Huachuca Mountains to pray all [full moon] night prior to the engagement. Separating myself from the others and climbing up a ridge, I rested on a flat rock falling asleep after praying a while, and was awaken suddenly with sharp pain everywhere as if an entity were attacking me physically, at which time I let out a raucous scream and shivered uncontrollably, after which I made my way back to the group and warmed myself by the campfire they had been maintaining – some of whom said they heard my scream and thought it was some kind of animal. So then, I cannot doubt Mr. Carlson’s experience.

  2. I wonder if this is happening all the time but God gave him eyes to see it for that moment in time…..note it has brought Tucker back to reading the bible and presumably faith so it is an act of grace

    1. I believe it is happening all the time but most of the attacks are of the mind and conscience. Then there are the dreadful attacks committed by so-called extraterrestrials and the voices speaking into the minds of people who practice meditation. Then there are the terrible encounters experienced by DMT users and the attacks experienced by OuiJa users.

  3. You might recall, or not, when I’ve recounted having such encounters, but mine were never violent, they were rather placid. I don’t know why that is, except perhaps that God was being kind to me and, again, I don’t know the reason for that.
The first one I had, when I was five years old or so, I was fully awake, but the others occurred in my sleep. The second one, when I was twelve, was the scariest one, being slowly levitated in my sleep, face up, from my body up to near the ceiling of my bedroom, then slowly rotated until I could see body still lying in bed, the slowly lowered again. I was in a panic during that one. But the next day, strangely, it was as though nothing really happened.
There was a fourth strange one when I was awake that occurred when I was roaming public playgrounds with a metal detector. I began searching a new area when suddenly the foreknowledge hit me with absolute certainty that I was about to find something more valuable than old or new coins. At the same time my mind recoiled at that impossibility but sure enough my detector picked up something buried which turned out to be a thick silver ring encrusted with turquoise stones. It wasn’t finding such a thing that astounded me, it was knowing beforehand what was about to happen.
Oh, I forgot, there was another one, when I was eleven or twelve, when I had the foreknowlege that I would win a school raffle just before my numbers were announced. I was stunned when I went up to claim the prize. They weren’t even my own raffle tickets, the sweet widow lady next door, Mrs. McClain, gave them to me because she couldn’t attend. I’m guessing she had already been “selected” to win? It was a paint set, but she wouldn’t take it when I presented it to her.
I can’t forget those things because I guess they’re so impactful.
