The New Fault Lines | Which Side Are They On? | Megan Basham Video

Right Response Ministries

In this episode of Theology Applied, I play a little game with Megan Basham from Daily Wire. I mention a well-known leader in Evangelicalism by name, and then Megan and I place them in one of three categories. Here’s the list of names we cover in this episode: 1) Timothy Keller 2) John Piper 3) Gavin Ortlund 4) Voddie Baucham 5) Matt Chandler 6) Michael Horton 7) Russell Moore 8) John MacArthur 9) R.C. Sproul 10) Doug Wilson The “old” fault lines of Calvinism vs. Arminianism, Cessationism vs. Continuationism, and Baptist vs. Presbyterian are still important, but the “new” fault lines have quickly moved to the center of the debate. What are these “new” fault lines? Oh, you know. Things like Woke vs. Not Woke, Covid Tyranny vs. Personal Liberty, Socialism vs. Capitalism, Globalism vs. Nationalism, etc. Now what we’re starting to see when it comes to these “new” fault lines, we’re starting to see that there are basically only three camps: 1) Pietism (Apathy) 2) Pragmatism (Marxists) 3) Perseverance (Faithfulness) You’re definitely not going to want to miss this episode!

  1. Okay, many years ago, at least four or more, I happened to hear a broadcast on my AM car radio delivered by one “MacArthur” and his name stuck in my memory in a positive light, which meant I heard nothing remiss. I doubt his message would change since then, so I would give John MacArthur a (3.
I heard one delivered here on linda’s blog by Voddie Baucham and again found nothing remiss at that time. But I’m not sure of that so I’d give him a tentative (3.
I’ve heard the name R.C. Sproul mentioned but not enough to connect it to anthing positive or negative.
The others I know nothing about, except for Gavin Ortland who was introduced here with his marked social justice, activism? Socialism and Christianity don’t mix. You can’t be both a cultural Marxist and a Christian. Marxism has no Truth in it, it’s just spider webs designed to catch the unwary and then be eaten by the spider. The spider is Satan of course.
Thse are my own tentative observations, so anyone could add their own observations.

    1. With respect to MacArthur, Sproul, and Baucham your observations are spot on. Ortland, Beth Moore, Keller and the rest of the ‘progressivized’ Evangelicals exposed by Basham in her book are wolves in sheep’s clothing.

      1. About Beth Moore, I recall now seeing a video about someone by that name acting outrageously, not commendably. I couldn’t follow what she was carrying on about.
