Light the World, 12/23
Visitors to Times Square were in for a surprise on Nov. 27 as its famous billboards became a larger-than-life tribute to the true reason for Christmas: Jesus Christ. Learn more about the Light the World movement: www.lighttheworld.org.
Beautiful, but its LDS. I was moved, but to anger when I saw that. Mormons are not Christians at all, they believe Jesus was the “spirit-child” of God, not preexistent and eternal. They believe He moved into oneness (or “won” it) with the Father through his plan of redemption. The Mormons have increasingly tried to deceive people into thinking they are Christians, they are not. That is why I am angry.
I understand. Yet the light show was stunningly beautiful and a break from bad news.
On the face of it, I saw the same Christmas story all Christians are familiar with, with nothing that suggested LDS. Yes, the graphics were dazzling and did in fact render a needed reminder of the reason for the season.
I didn’t know it came from LDS until David pointed it out. He’s right that LDS is not Christian but actually heathen, with their materialist vision of Venusian gods. Joseph Smith and Brigham Young had no business corrupting and adding things to the Bible that weren’t there. Only false prophets do that.
But apart from that inglorious ending, the Christmas story was beautiful.
