Two words gone missing from much of today’s broken ‘happy-clappy’ church are “sin” and “repent.” Also missing in most of the church are the following words, “supernatural dimension,” angels, evil angels, evil spirits, and Hell. Plus, for many years now, Christians throughout W. Europe and the USA have been handing their precious children over to a deeply corrupted education system that conditions them with obscene sex ‘education,’ hatred of God, family, white people, homeland, and with ideological nihilism. And as Islam, a 1600 year old killing machine responsible for the savage massacre of over 200,000,000 Christians invades and takes over our cities and towns, what we see from many Christians is a great big, smiley faced, welcome mat insanely put out for their executioners.
This is what happens to a spiritually blind, compromised, and morally corrupted, church.
Many years ago Francis Schaeffer foresaw the spiritual blindness today’s church operates under. He said naturalism–all that exists is what can be discerned through our senses—was already descending like a suffocating shroud upon our nation and the church, cutting off the supernatural, angels, evil angels, evil spirits, and hell, and causing blinded Christians to search down here for answers to their questions.
Since his time naturalism and its consequence–nihilism–interpenetrates the spirits (minds) of Christians, blinding them to the deep corruption of schools, government, law, Big Food, Big Pharmacy, Big Insurance and even the church. The shroud also blinds them to the presence and evil activities of fallen Powers and evil spirits.
Long before Schaeffers prophecy, in the book, “The Church and the Powers,” chapter 5, Hendrik Berkhof said:
“…it is given to the church as a privilege—and therefore as a duty—to take toward the Powers, restrained as they are by God, a definite stance. This stance is grounded in the fact that, by virtue of their fellowship with the Lord of all Powers, believers have been enabled to see through their anti-Christian dimension…. This involves especially the discerning of the Powers which hold the hearts and actions of men under their sway.” “When Paul lists (1 Corinthians 12:8-10) the various gifts of the Spirit bestowed upon the church, he names among them ‘discernment of spirits..a special gift of the Spirit, which not everyone possesses, at least not in the same measure…. The Spirit distributes the gifts in a special way to each person, as He wills. p. 47-48
Berkhof went on to say that today’s church, as a whole, has lost its privilege of discernment, therefore is no longer able to see through the anti-Christian dimension operating all around it…and even within it.
In other words, a greater part of the church has been spiritually disarmed.
